**BLACK ONLY** SPL Outer Tie Rod Ends are designed to allow easy bumpsteer adjustment in 0.3" increments, allowing for up to a +1" shift of the pivot point from the stock location. This offers much greater adjustment range than any other aftermarket outer tie rod ends. The bump steer spacers are integral to the design and reinforce the shank under bending loads. Spacers are CNC machined from 2024 aircraft aluminum alloy (also known as Super Duralumin), a much stronger (and much more expensive) aluminum than the more common 6061. This expensive alloy is lightweight yet has almost the same strength as steel. The end shanks are CNC machined from alloy steel, then hardened (by heat treatment) to maximize strength. SPL uses QA1's 5/8" teflon-lined chromoly high-misalignment rod end, this special rod end offers an incredible 65deg of articulation angle. This is more than stock (~50deg) and much more than other aftermarket tie rod ends (~35deg). These Outer Tie Rod Ends are designed to be used with 90-96 300ZX (Z32) or 03+ 350Z (Z33) inner tie rods on the 240SX. The Z32 or Z33 inner tie rods are much stronger than the stock 240SX tie rods, are relatively cheap and easily sourced, and provide for a much larger range of toe adjustment than the stock 240SX inner/outer tie rod setup. New for V5, the end shanks are now made from 9310 alloy steel. 9310 is an alloy noted for its incredible impact and fatigue strength, and for that reason is most commonly used in performance transmission gears! SPL uses this alloy to take the abuse and shock loads from lock to lock steering in drifting. The hardened 9310 shanks are certified for 190,000psi tensile strength.
